Content Strategy & SEO for Nashville Coffee Shop

Client: Independent neighborhood coffee shop (name withheld)
Project Duration: 3 months
Scope: Local SEO strategy, Content creation

The Challenge

This Tennessee owned coffee shop had a strong in-person following, but their digital presence didn’t reflect the same warmth or accessibility. Their website was outdated, difficult to navigate, and underperforming in search engine rankings.

Key goals:
  • Redesign the website for usability and aesthetics (I worked with my agency’s lead web designer and developers)
  • Improve local search engine visibility
  • Drive more foot traffic and online orders
  • Highlight the shop’s personality and community presence

Our Approach

Technical SEO Improvements

We conducted an SEO audit to identify and fix performance and visibility issues, including:
  • Compressing and optimizing images for faster load times
  • Adding custom meta titles, descriptions, and heading structures
  • Implementing schema markup for local business data and events

Local SEO Strategy

To help the cafe appear in more “near me” and location-specific searches, we optimized its online footprint through:
  • Google Business Profile optimization
  • Local keyword targeting (e.g., “latte near [neighborhood],” “best coffee shop in [city]”)
  • Directory listings and citations
  • Location-based blog content and FAQs

Content Strategy

We created short, brand-aligned content pieces that boosted SEO and built a stronger customer connection:
  • Blog posts like “What’s Brewing This Season?” and “Meet the Farmers”
  • Seasonal drink landing pages
  • Event announcements and newsletter integration
  • Alt text and keyword-rich copy throughout the site

The Results

In just 3 months, the coffee shop saw measurable improvements:
  • +170% increase in organic website traffic
  • +220% increase in local search visibility
  • Top 3 ranking for over 10 targeted local keywords
  • 30% growth in online orders and RSVP’d events
  • Bounce rate decreased from 78% to 39%
