R Jamin Website Design

Overview
Artist R. Jamin approached me with a website that no longer reflected the quality or evolution of their work. The site was outdated, hard to navigate, and lacked mobile responsiveness. The goal of this redesign was to elevate the online presence, improve usability, and create a digital experience that mirrored the thoughtful, layered nature of their art practice.

Challenges
-
The existing site had a text heavy layout, outdated design, and was difficult to update.
-
The navigation didn’t support the growing volume of work.
- The mobile experience was clunky and non-intuitive.
Approach
-
UX Audit & Research: I began with a full UX audit to identify pain points and opportunities. I reviewed analytics, interviewed the artist, and analyzed how users engaged with the site.
-
Information Architecture Redesign: I restructured the site map to prioritize ease of use, allowing users to browse collections by medium, exhibition, or chronology.
- Content Strategy: I revised page content for clarity and consistency, ensuring the artist’s tone and philosophy came through. I also created backend systems to make future updates easier for the client.
-
Design & Accessibility: I developed a responsive design that foregrounds imagery while meeting accessibility standards (color contrast, alt text, semantic structure).
